Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains,

Psalm 107:10

Two recent speaking engagements have defined my audience for me.

The first was at a singles night where the topic was “Let’s Talk About Sex”  The pastor that night informed the singles (male and female) of the nature of the talk and asked that if they had questions about sex to write them out.  About 75 young people, most were in their early twenties, were there. We covered every topic imaginable concerning sex. The talk was open and frank with a diversity of questions ranging from subjects such as premarital sex and activity’s such as oral and anal sex, and sex

toys. There were over twenty questions; they wanted to know everything and God’s view and why. There were also many direct questions from the group.  One young man stood up and said matter-of-factly, “whenever I masturbate I come under condemnation.”   To the pastor’s relief I answered that question.

The point I am making is that I found that today, young people are no longer inhibited concerning the topic of sex.

The next group was a group of about 45 businessmen.  My host told me that, even though a number of the men confided in him concerning their own issues with lust, masturbation and pornography, that I should not expect them to ask questions directly about the topic.  He said that they would be guarded and reserved, which they were, in comparison to the first group.

I believe this website is for Christian men, young and old, married and single, those who struggle with lust, masturbation, and/or pornography, and those who do not.   Because for the most part, Christian men do not cross the line beyond these three actions.  It is my conviction, though, that of any 10 men who continuously indulge in these three areas, one will go further in acting out his fantasy.

Often men who are vulnerable to these issues remain stuck and live in a never ending cycle of sinning-repenting-sinning-repenting-sinning-repenting.  Stuck between their walk with their Lord and repeatedly  returning to that place of indulging in lust, masturbation and pornography, but not acting out behaviorally with someone else.  The numbers are great and, pastors know it, yet for the most part they do not address the topic.

In the first meeting, the challenge was to present holiness and obedience.  In the second meeting I came up against shame and pride.

Why Do I Include Men Who

do not struggle with any of these issues?  The reality is that we are all sexual beings and the non struggler can be a great help to ones who struggle. (James 5:16)Men who struggle need that man that this scripture speaks of.

So I believe all men are to be given understanding concerning this topic.  For one or the other reason, they need the information.

For if the magnitude of these sins could be seen within the Body of Christ we would see countless numbers of our Christian brothers (to use the Biblical word) they are “Slaves” to these demonic deceptions. And for the past two generations our adolescent boys and our young men have been raised in a culture that says lusting, habitually masturbating and looking at pornography is normal.  Now we are seeing great numbers of our youth, they themselves also caught up in this death trap.

It is the hope of Resurrection Life Ministries to offer help in these areas.  It is the prayer of this ministry that this website would be used by our Lord in “setting the captives free,” as it says in

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,

because the LORD has anointed me

to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim freedom for the captives

and release from darkness for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor

and the day of vengeance of our God,

       to comfort all who mourn,

  and

provide for those who grieve in Zion—

to bestow on them a crown of beauty

       instead of ashes,

       the oil of gladness

       instead of mourning,

       and a garment of praise

instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,

       a planting of the LORD

for the display of his splendor.
