The acronym stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual,
I used Google A I to define each word. I kept each definition as short as possible, for some of the definitions were quite long.
LESBIAN – is a term used to describe women who are romantically, emotionally, and/or sexually attracted to other women.
GAY – The term “gay” most commonly refers to men who are romantically, emotionally, and/or sexually attracted to other men (homosexual men).
BISEXUAL – is when someone is attracted to people of more than one gender.
TRANSGENDER – Transgender refers to people whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth.
(Uncertain if the “Q” stands for “Queer or Questioning”)
QUEER – “Queer” is a term that has evolved over time and can mean different things to different people, but it generally refers to anyone who doesn’t fit into traditional categories of gender and sexuality.
Or QUESTIONING – A process of exploration: “Questioning” describes individuals who are in the process of exploring their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or a combination of these.
INTERSEX – is an umbrella term used to describe people who are born with sex characteristics (including chromosomes, gonads, internal and external sex organs, and hormone levels) that don’t fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies.
ASEXUAL -is a sexual orientation characterized by a lack of sexual attraction to others, or a low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity.
