Is There A Septic Tank* Manhole Cover Within Your Deep Heart?
Let’s take a moment and look at this picture above. We know that this manhole cover is extremely heavy and once it has been put in place it has a specific purpose, and that being to keep the “waste” we want removed totally – out of our sight and forever gone from our lives. Plus on this particular cover you will notice a small air hole, this little hole is very important concerning this article. It is this manhole cover that is letting us know that “if,” necessary we can access this deep underground system that is intended to take care of our everyday waste we may experience within our life. Yet the fact is this manhole cover is extremely hard to remove.

What are some of the words that can describe any “waste,” within our hearts that our Living God does not want us to be polluted by? Descriptive words, words that always polluted our soul; lust, idolatry, pride, unbelief, unforgiveness, judging others, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, envy, being offended, shame, self-hatred, self righteousness, greed, rejection, anger, selfishness, loneliness, emotional dependency, co-dependency, toxic thinking, victim mentality, narcissism, secrets and lies. This list is in no way complete.

Our Triune God wants these sin issues removed completly from our lives and our preciousHoly Spirit is working to that end.
But first we must find this manhole cover in our deep heart? Should it even be there? Does scripture speak of such a thing within our hearts? Let’s look at Jeremiah 17:9-10
The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”
What is our Lord searching for? All this time I thought my heart was my secret place, my own hiding place that absolutely nobody knew about and now this scripture is telling me that I have been deceiving myself. That the Living God, the God of Light, the God of Truth is roaming around my heart and mind.
All this time, (within my heart,) I created a place where I have kept these polluted attitudes and motives, that in all honesty I am not willing to yet, let go of and now I have this revelation that he has always known this! My darkest secrets, my true attitudes and motives are not secrets to him!
That is why his light is shining on this Manhole Cover within my deep heart. He is after the deep things down there, Things that are not easy to access and do not normally show themselves.

Oh, yes, they will come out under the right circumstances, they can seep out through the small holes in that manhole cover. When everything seems to be going well the pollution underneath my manhole cover can be kept under my cpmplete control. But in every day life I have encounter circumstances that easily blindsides me and set in motion a pressure within my deep heart which causes those deep deep attitudes and motives to start leaking out of those hose on top of the manhole cover. Polluting my heart and mind and spilling over into my thoughts, words, deeds and actions.
And when they seep out they cause pain with in my heart. The fact is; rejection produces pain, pride produces pain, unforgiveness produces pain, bitterness produces pain (and the list can go on.)
What I am trying to show you is that when we have unresolved issues, or wrong attitudes and motives within our hearts of any kind, we are faced with a choice. We can bring it into the light and give it to our God who is very aware of what we are dealing with. Or we can throw it down into that deep sewer within our hearts and then place that manhole cover on top of it covering it up. But the problem is these issues, these attitudes, these motives do not just go away. Yes they are out of sight and we become somewhat unaware of their presence, nevertheless they are unresolved within our deep heart. There toxic smell leaks through that small hole in the cover, reminding us that they are still with us. We convince ourselves that they are not that important, and we throw them down into that hole of forgetfulness placing that manhole cover on top of them.
But remember that small air-hole? All that unresolved “stuff,” that we thought we have gotten rid of somehow leaves a toxic odor within our hearts that kills love, peace and joy. Nevertheless, this smell is so bad within our hearts we will let it come out of us one way or another. Be it depression, or anger, or criticism, or judging others, or bitterness or resentment. Or we try to just hold it in, yet even with that often our countenance gives us away.
cover it with the medication of “Lust.” Lust provides a numbing effect. It in no way resolves the pain but just numbs the pain for a moment. Lust will give you a momentary high to off set the pain issue that is going on within you for it temporarily takes the focus off of any pain within your heart.
Lust can relieve the pain of; rejection, pride, unforgiveness, bitterness (an on and on,) “TEMPORARILY.” Yet what you don’t understand about lust is that it is very similar to the drug of opium and is extremely easy to become addicted to. So, when you have any unresolved heart issues, everything can seem fine until a storm arises with in your inner world.
Now, when you experienced that storm, be it with relationships, or the challenging of your values and morals. This is when you are tested.
Now, what this website is all about, is walking in Purity and Holiness especially concerning your sex drive. And concerning your sex drive, one of the primary triggers that inflames it, is lust.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
designed in such a way that it cannot be easily removed. For it is protecting us from several things that we do not want to be reminded of in our everyday lives. For this special opening
and of course what stands out on it is the word; “SEWER.”
replace that word with the word, “LUST.” Yes, now you would have a manhole cover with a new word stamped on it titled, “LUST.” That’s what you are trying to get on the other side of. We know it is extremely difficult to lift and move it out of the way, and why would you want to? For underneath it is some pretty ugly stuff, right. Yes, first you will need to get on the other side of the smell, which are very poisonous gases. Well, for starters that’s where our precious Holy Spirit wants to take you and show you what is down on the other side of that cover.
That manhole cover was designed to be extremely difficult to get out of the way for you to go down into that deep dark place. Well, that deep dark place in actual fact there are certain rooms in the depths of your heart. Rooms our Holy Spirit desires to take you into. Desires to let the light of truth shine in the darkness.
If you make the commitment to abstaining from Lust, it will be like having an operation without any anesthetic to relieve your pain.
Let’s say you have loneliness issues? Without your lust, they will be magnified! They have been there for quite some time, yet the last has been the anesthetic, the pain reliever for that loneliness. But there is something wrong? For it seems yes, you are under the anesthetic, your pain is somewhat relieved. But the truth is the anesthetic you’re under is a deceptive lie that you are being entrapped by, brought into addiction by.
Let’s say the issue is anger, which when compounded, can easily turn into rage. Both anger and rage believe it or not causes great pain in your heart. But you found an easy solution, a medication that numbs your heart. Walla, another reason to continue lusting. The positive benefits of lusting is it numbs your heart from other issues with in your heart. (I hope I am making sense?)
Up on the menu bar of the Restore Purity website are around 25, “Silent Killers,” You have a choice, to continue lusting and the positive benefit of doing that is in continuing with less thing you are ongoingly numbing those issues in your deep heart. But if you choose to stop the lust you will enter into pain that has always been there in your heart.
Warning this pain could be great and potentially could have been there for many years.
