I call to the LORD,
who is worthy of praise,
and
I am saved from my enemies.
The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.

It is vitally important that we learn what King David is describing in these above verses to “Cry Out to our Father God for help.” whenever we are tempted by lust, pornography or compulsive masturbation “before” we are overtaken by them. As we see, King David “cries out” to his God and we also see our Father God’s response to David’s cry! (to see our Father’s response read 2 Samuel 22 and/or Psalm 18) The fact is King David’s God is our Father God and our God desires to be just as involved in our life as He was in King David’s life. Below are a number of verses (most written from the hand of King David himself.) Each is worthy of meditation. Each showing the kind of relationship our Father in Heaven wants with us. Each reinforcing the promise that
“…he will never leave us nor forsake us.” (Joshua 1:5)
Whether we be in a season were our need for His help is sporadic or we find ourselves crying out to our Father in Heaven a 1,000 times a day, He wants us to involved Him. The fact is we have proven to ourselves that we are weak in these areas of our lives and we are in need of His help. The Devil would like us to think that our Father God tires of us crying out to Him! That is a lie! If our need is crying out to Him a 1,000 times a day, then He will respond to us a 1,000 times a day. We are His treasured possession. Often we don’t realize the great value we are to Him. Remember the great price He paid for each of us! Once again, it will be either pride or unbelief that will be at the core of not applying this great truth in our lives.
We have experienced the power of seduction and enticement concerning Lust, Masturbation and Pornography in our lives, and the truth is that our Father in Heaven wants to help us break this power that is currently over us! If we will only call to Him – cry out to Him.
Sometimes, when we are alone, we will be able to cry out at the top of our lungs, putting full volume behind our voice. That’s what’s you would do if a roaring lion was about to pounce on you to devour you. Sometimes you might be in a place where you might only be able to whisper this plea from your heart. The important issue will not be the volume of
your voice but your sincerity, and sometimes your tenacity of not letting up in your “crying out” to your Father God.
So spend time on this page, working out how you need to apply this truth into your life. For the reality is that it is at this place of our weakness that our Father God desires to reveal Himself to each of us.
